About the role
The Owners Corporation Accountant plays a key role in supporting the financial operations of the Owners Corporations under management. Reporting to the Admin Manager, this position ensures accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance for the buildings under the Owners Corporation Department's management. The role requires attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines, and strong communication skills to support internal staff and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
Review and verify overflow of EOY Financial Statements
Coordinate the preparation and lodgment of BAS Returns for properties in line with regulatory requirements
Preparation of documentation for audits of properties as required
Weekly check for variances in the Cash Bank Report and save a copy for internal control purposes
Complete and process the weekly contractor pay run, ensuring timely and accurate payments
Assist OC Managers and clients with financial queries related to Owners Corporations, including budgeting, levy status, account reconciliations and resolving billing discrepancies
Liaise with accountants, auditors, bank and the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) as required
Prepare financial reports and documents for lost properties
Fill in for other accounts staff when away
Manage the Owners Corporation levy run on a quarterly basis
About you
Qualified accountant
5+ years in finance or accounting role
Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting practices
Experience with BAS, tax compliance, and financial reporting
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong time management and ability to work to deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in financial software systems
Strong analytical skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
