We’re looking for an Irrigation Designer to join our team at our Subiaco office. This new role will be responsible for the technical planning and engineering of water delivery systems for landscape projects of varying scale. It will suit an experienced individual who can work collaboratively with landscape architects and hydrologists to design and deliver irrigation design solutions for our clients. Key responsibilities will include:

- preparing drawings, layouts, and material specifications

- specifying suitable equipment including pumps, filtration systems, controllers, and reticulation components

- interpreting plans and site conditions to develop effective solutions

- performing hydraulic assessments to ensure system efficiency

- liaising with suppliers regarding product selection, pricing, and emerging technologies

- ensuring irrigation designs comply with relevant Australian Standards, Water Corporation environmental licencing and / or Local Government specifications

- providing assistance with groundwater licence calculations and applications

- designing sustainable systems that embrace best practice water conservation management and water sensitive urban design

- conducting site inspections and client consultations to determine project requirements

- providing technical support and guidance to Landscape Contractors and sub-contractor teams.

Irrigation Designer applicants will meet the following minimum position requirements:

• A Diploma in Irrigation, Agriculture, or Horticulture.

• A minimum 5 years irrigation design experience including a minimum 2 years experience working with local Western Australian design issues and standards.

• Australian working rights are essential for all applicants.

• Demonstrated experience working on landscape and irrigation projects of a range of scales from concept design to contract documentation and contract administration.

• Demonstrated understanding of local landscape and irrigation construction techniques.

• Expertise in AutoCAD and/or irrigation design software and a deep understanding of hydraulic parameters, pumping and irrigation control systems.

• Ability to interpret aerial photography, soil maps, and climatic data to inform design decisions.

• Knowledge of irrigation equipment and associated infrastructure.

• Existing industry contacts within irrigation, turf, landscaping, horticulture, or agriculture is high regarded.

• Strong communication skills with an ability to work effectively across teams and between multiple projects and tasks.

• The ability to understand directions from our senior team and work autonomously.

• Blue/ white card certification (or general construction induction card)

• A valid, current driver's license for site visits.

• Certified Irrigation Designer (CID) status highly regarded.
