The Opportunity
Step into a hands-on role keeping our community clean and sustainable. As a Landfill Operator, you will assist in the efficient and compliant operation of Council Waste Management Facility and nine village landfills. You will safely operate plant and machinery, including the waste baler, ensuring all transfer facility operations meet legislative and environmental standards.
Your day-to-day work will involve driving resource recovery to minimise landfilling, directing traffic safely, operating the weighbridge for revenue collection, and travelling to village waste facilities for accurate rural site inspections.

About You
You are an organised, hardworking and reliable team player who is observant and proactive regarding workplace safety. You bring practical, hands-on skills in operating and maintaining plant machinery within a waste facility or similar environment.
To succeed in this role, you will bring
A Certificate III in Waste Management or the willingness and ability to complete this upon commencement.
Strong communication and customer service skills, plus sound literacy and numeracy for accurate record-keeping and running weighbridge software.
A current Class MR Licence, First Aid Certificate, and General Construction Induction White Card.
Verification of competency for Front End Loader, Backhoe, Skidsteer, and Excavator, plus a High Risk Forklift Licence.
Asbestos Awareness Training and up-to-date immunisations including Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Tetanus.
