Residential Building Inspector

About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Building Inspector to join a high-performing inspections team. Working closely with the Division Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring construction quality, structural compliance, and workmanship standards across a variety of residential building projects.

This position offers autonomy, variety and the opportunity to make a genuine impact on project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct a variety of building inspections including Pre-purchase inspections, PCI inspections and various structural inspections during other stages of construction
• Inspect roof frames, brickwork, timber wall frames and trusses
• Inspect concrete slabs including suspended and ground slabs prior to pours
• Assess waterproofing works and roof sheeting installations
• Complete dilapidation inspections
• Prepare clear, detailed inspection reports and recommendations
• Liaise with builders, contractors, and internal stakeholders

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in building inspection or construction is essential
• Registered Builder qualification highly regarded
• Strong understanding of NCC requirements and Australian Standards
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• High attention to detail with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
• Ability to work autonomously and manage workload effectively
• Strong team collaboration and mentoring capabilities
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence required
