Chief Medical Officer, Eastern Health

Reporting to the Chief Executive and serving as a member of the Executive Team, the Chief Medical Officer will provide authoritative clinical leadership and professional medical governance across the organisation. The role is central to ensuring the highest standards of clinical quality, patient safety, medical professionalism and evidence-based care while providing trusted advice to the Board, Chief Executive and Executive on complex clinical and strategic matters. 

A highly respected and influential medical leader, the successful candidate will bring substantial experience in a large and complex health service together with deep expertise in clinical governance, quality and safety, professional standards and medical workforce leadership. They will foster strong multidisciplinary partnerships across medicine, nursing, midwifery, allied health and operational leadership to drive excellence in patient outcomes, clinician engagement and organisational performance. 

Key to success will be a track record of leading clinical improvement, driving innovation and strengthening organisational capability through education, research and workforce development. The successful candidate will bring the credibility and influence to work effectively with executive, board and system stakeholders while embodying Eastern Health's Healthier Together promise and values.
