About the role

ACE AUTOBODY is seeking a skilled and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team in Salisbury South, SA. This is a full-time position where you will be responsible for the diagnosis, repair and maintenance of a variety of vehicles to the highest standards.

At Ace Autobody, many accident-damaged vehicles require mechanical work before or after the panel beaters can properly carry out repairs. We need a mechanics who can assist with tasks such as suspension repairs, removing,service and refitting engines, stripping damaged mechanical components, and supporting the repair process so our panel team can complete their work efficiently.

Ace Autobody is seeking an experienced and reliable Motor Mechanic to join our busy crash repair workshop. Many accident-damaged vehicles require mechanical work before panel beaters can complete repairs, therefore the mechanic plays a critical role in the repair process.

This position is ideal for a motivated mechanic who enjoys working in a fast-paced repair environment and is confident handling a wide range of mechanical tasks including suspension, engine removal, and diagnostics.

• Diagnose accident-related mechanical damage

• Remove and refit suspension, steering, subframe and engine components as required

• Strip damaged mechanical parts to assist panel beaters in repair process

• Ensure vehicles are mechanically safe and ready for panel repair or delivery

• Work closely with panel beaters and workshop team

• Perform routine servicing, maintenance and vehicle inspections

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and electronic faults

• Replace worn or damaged components using best industry practices

• Carry out repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications

• Maintain accurate job records of work performed and parts used

• Ensure high-quality workmanship and attention to detail

• Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment

• Follow workplace health and safety requirements

• Communicate effectively with team members and customers where required

• Deliver reliable and professional service standards

• Qualified Motor Mechanic or relevant industry experience

• Strong knowledge of suspension, steering and engine components

• Ability to work efficiently in a busy workshop environment

• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

• Reliable, punctual and team-oriented attitude

1. Formal qualifications in Automotive Mechanics or a related trade

2. 2+ years of experience as a qualified Motor Mechanic

3. Must have Australian work rights or eligibility to work in Australia

4. Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostic equipment and repair procedures

5. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

6. Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship

7. Good communication and customer service skills

8. A current driver's licence and your own tools

9. Must hold a full driver's licence
