The Opportunity
Reporting to the Deputy General Counsel - International Advisory, this is a great opportunity to lead the Commercial and Corporate legal function supporting CBRE's Advisory business across Australia and New Zealand. As a trusted adviser to senior executives, you will provide strategic legal and governance support across a large and dynamic business that is part of the world's leading real estate services.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic and hands-on legal advice on commercial, corporate, governance and regulatory matters impacting the Advisory business across the PacificLead, mentor and develop the Pacific Advisory legal teamAct as Company Secretary for CBRE entities across Australia and New Zealand and oversee all corporate legal and company secretarial activitiesSupport major commercial transactions, contracts and strategic business initiativesPartner with executive leaders to identify and manage legal risk while enabling commercial objectivesDrive operational excellence through process improvement, technology adoption and best practice legal operationsManage external counselCollaborate effectively with colleagues in Litigation, Employment Relations, Risk, Ethics & Compliance and other CBRE Global Governance functions; andServe as a member of the Pacific Executive Committee.
About You
You are a commercially minded legal leader who enjoys partnering with senior stakeholders, leading teams, and influencing outcomes within a complex global business.
We're looking for:
Law degree and admission to practice in Australia with 12+ years post admission experienceA combination of top-tier private practice and in-house commercial legal experienceA collaborative leadership style with proven experience leading and developing legal teamsStrong commercial, corporate, governance, and regulatory expertiseSignificant company secretarial experienceExperience operating successfully within a large, complex, and highly matrixed organisationOutstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience advising executive and board-level stakeholdersExperience within commercial real estate, property services or a related industry will be highly regarded
