Welder / Boilermaker

About the role

Fleetweld is seeking an experienced Welder / Boilermaker to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for the fabrication, welding, assembly, and repair of custom truck bodies, service bodies, trays, tippers, and associated equipment. The successful applicant will produce high-quality work while maintaining safety, efficiency, and attention to detail throughout the manufacturing process.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate and weld steel service bodies, trays, tipper bodies, and custom vehicle bodies.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication plans.

• Build vehicle bodies from chassis through to completed product.

• Perform MIG welding to a high standard.

• Fit and weld structural steel components.

• Carry out modifications and repairs to existing truck bodies and equipment.

• Install mechanical components including crane mounts, winches, hoists, and associated brackets.

• Operate fabrication equipment including welders, drills, grinders, saws, presses, and other workshop machinery.

• Conduct quality checks throughout the fabrication process.

• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area.

About you

• Previous experience as a Welder / Boilermaker / Fabricator.

• Strong MIG welding experience.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

• Experience using fabrication equipment and power tools.

• High attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and within a team.

• Reliable with excellent time management.

• Strong problem-solving skills.

• Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (desirable).

• Experience in truck body manufacturing or automotive fabrication (desirable).
