A well-established financial services business is seeking an experienced
Financial Modelling Contractor to design and build a practical budgeting and forecasting model during a major finance systems transformation.
Working closely with the CFO and senior project stakeholders, you will create an integrated forecasting framework that supports the current budgeting cycle and provides a robust platform for future planning. The environment is currently reliant on multiple spreadsheets and manual consolidation processes, creating an opportunity to deliver a streamlined and fit-for-purpose solution.
Key Responsibilities - Design and build an integrated three-way forecasting model incorporating:
- Profit & Loss
- Balance Sheet
- Cash Flow
- Develop forecasting capability for liquidity, working capital and funding requirements.
- Translate complex operational drivers into a practical budgeting framework.
- Work with imperfect source data and existing manual processes to deliver a workable solution quickly.
- Ensure the model remains sustainable and easy to maintain during and after a broader ERP transformation programme.
About You You are likely to be a:
- Senior Financial Modeller
- FP&A Contractor
- Finance Transformation Consultant
- Commercial Finance Specialist
with experience building sophisticated but practical forecasting models in complex, transaction-heavy businesses.
Experience within any of the following sectors would be highly regarded:
- Financial Services
- Asset Finance
- Equipment Finance
- Automotive Finance
- Consumer Lending
- Captive Finance
You will ideally understand lending portfolios, working capital dynamics, liquidity forecasting, funding requirements, commission structures and the cash flow impacts of portfolio growth.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience building integrated three-way financial models from the ground up.
- Strong commercial judgement and pragmatic problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and deliver outcomes at pace.
- Confidence engaging with executive stakeholders.
- Experience operating within changing environments and ongoing finance system implementations.
The Opportunity This is a hands-on assignment where you'll have the opportunity to make an immediate impact, delivering a model that will become a critical planning tool for the business over the next several years.
Salary circa: $75-100ph + Superannuation
