About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager – Decommissioning to join our Rural Water Efficiency Project (RWEP) team and play a key role overseeing the decommissioning activities that will enable the successful delivery of this landmark program.
This is a unique opportunity to lead a complex infrastructure project that will have a lasting impact on our customers, communities and the environment.
About the project
The Rural Water Efficiency Project is a landmark investment jointly funded by the Australian Government and Coliban Water. The program will modernise and optimise the Greater Bendigo rural water network, improving water efficiency and service delivery for more than 1,150 rural customers while strengthening long-term water security across the region.
About the role:
Reporting to the Manager Planning & Decommissioning, you will lead the planning and delivery of the RWEP decommissioning program. You'll manage projects from planning through to implementation and completion, working closely with consultants, contractors, government agencies and internal stakeholders to safely decommission legacy infrastructure while maintaining strong community relationships and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the planning and delivery of decommissioning projects, including risk-based options analysis, prioritisation and program implementation.
Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, risks and reporting.
Coordinate consultants, contractors and technical specialists.
Prepare project briefs, tender documentation and technical specifications.
Build strong relationships and negotiate beneficial outcomes with landowners, government agencies, traditional owners, and community stakeholders.
Ensure projects meet safety, environmental, quality and legislative requirements.
Represent Coliban Water in stakeholder discussions and project meetings.
About you:
You'll be a highly motivated and collaborative project manager who enjoys solving complex problems and building trusted relationships.
You'll bring:
Demonstrated experience delivering infrastructure, utilities or civil projects.
Experience in policy and strategy development.
Strong project management, planning and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience managing consultants, contractors and project budgets.
Excellent relationship building, communication and negotiation skills.
Initiative and strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance technical, environmental and community considerations.
Qualifications in project management, engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
Experience within the water, infrastructure, utilities or environmental sectors, particularly in asset decommissioning or land management, will be highly regarded.

Salary:
The salary and conditions for this position will be as per the Coliban Water Enterprise Agreement 2021 Band 4 $93,548 - $112,895 plus superannuation salary range will be offered to the successful candidate commensurate with their skills and experience.
