2027 APPRENTICE INTAKE

Joyce Mechanical Services is now seeking applications for our 2027 Apprentice Intake across three trades:

🔧 Diesel Fitter
⚡ Auto Electrician
🔥 Boilermaker

This is your opportunity to learn from experienced tradespeople, gain real-world experience and build a career working with heavy machinery and equipment.

 🔧 Diesel Fitter Apprenticeship

Learn to service, diagnose, repair and maintain heavy mobile equipment including haul trucks, dozers, graders, loaders and other mining machinery.

 ⚡ Auto Electrician Apprenticeship

Develop skills in diagnosing, repairing and maintaining the electrical systems that keep modern heavy equipment operating, from starting and charging systems through to complex electronic components and diagnostics.

 🔥 Boilermaker Apprenticeship

Learn practical fabrication and welding skills while working on heavy equipment and components. You'll gain experience in repairs, structural fabrication, modifications and rebuild work within the heavy equipment industry.

 What We're Looking For

We want apprentices who are reliable, hardworking and genuinely interested in learning a trade.

To be considered, you will need:

• A genuine interest in mechanical, electrical or fabrication work

• A hands-on attitude and willingness to learn

• A strong work ethic and commitment to safety

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• The ability to listen, follow instructions and take feedback

• The ability to work 12-hour shifts and occasional Saturdays

• A driver's licence and reliable vehicle – P plates are acceptable; L plates are not

• To be living locally in Mackay, QLD or able to relocate before commencement

• Year 12 completion is beneficial but not essential

Applications submitted without a cover letter addressing the above will not progress to the next stage.
