About the role
Envoi Specialist Pathologists are seeking part-time and casual Medical Administrators to join our growing team, in a private Histopathology practice dedicated to Gastrointestinal and Hepatic Pathology.
Established in Brisbane in 2007, our pathologists have a national and international reputation for provision of excellent service and world-class research. Working closely with referring Gastroenterologists and Surgeons, we aim to enhance the care of patients by providing a timely and accurate pathology service.
Positions are part-time or casual (ideally 3-5 days, or minimum 2 shifts per week) from Monday to Fridays, with rotating rosters from 6am to 11pm. Shifts are 5 - 7.6 hours with most shift times commencing at 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm and 4:30pm. Saturdays may be required in the future.
This position will report to the Administration Manager and Team Leader - Administration, and work closely with Laboratory Scientists and the Medical Administration team to:
• Complete data entry;
• Maintain medical records;
• Assist in preparation/ typing of medical reports;
• Complete invoicing; and
• Liaise with patients/ couriers/ doctors and other medical staff via telephone and face to face contact.
This role would ideally suit experienced candidates who have an interest in continuing to build an administrative career in a private pathology practice.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills – (both written and verbal communication), and will possess the following:
• Medical administration experience is highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member under supervision.
• Ability to prioritise tasks, work to meet targets and deadlines, and manage own time effectively.
• Excellent telephone manner.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Experience in working with medical terminology is required.
• The candidate will also possess advanced competency in Microsoft Office and medical software.
