About the role
Join a growing music academy where you can build your own student base with genuine support, flexibility and opportunities to grow. Great opportunity for piano players, singers, performers and aspiring music educators.
My Music Academy Wembley is a growing, community-focused music school specialising in one-on-one music tuition.
We are looking for a passionate and personable Piano & Vocal Instructor to join our teaching team and help us continue growing our piano and vocal programs.
We are currently at capacity for our existing piano and singing students, with further room to grow ahead of our Term 4 student inductions. This creates an immediate opportunity for the right person to establish and grow their own student base within the Academy.
There is no set number of hours expected initially. Instead, we will work with the successful candidate to build a suitable timetable around their availability, student demand and what is practical for both sides.
As your student base grows, there will be genuine opportunities to increase your teaching hours, take on additional days and grow with the Academy.
Our peak teaching periods are Monday to Friday after school and Saturdays, so availability during these times is highly regarded. However, you do not need to be available every day. We are happy to work around the right person's existing commitments and build a timetable that works for both sides.
This role is different from simply being handed a timetable and expected to fill it yourself.
For the right person, we want to invest in your success and help you build your student base.
The Academy will provide ongoing client-building and marketing support, particularly as we prepare for our upcoming Term 4 student inductions.
We'll work together to gradually build your timetable as demand allows, with the opportunity to expand your hours when it becomes practical.
We're looking for someone who:
Is confident teaching piano and/or singing
Has strong communication and people skills
Is reliable, professional and personable
Enjoys working with students of different ages and abilities
Is passionate about helping students develop confidence and achieve their musical goals
Wants to build a strong, long-term teaching base
Can contribute positively to the culture and growth of the Academy
Formal teaching qualifications are not required.
We're much more interested in your ability to connect with students, communicate well and create an enjoyable and productive learning environment.
Experience teaching both piano and singing would be highly regarded, but we are also open to strong candidates who specialise in one of these areas.
This opportunity could be a great fit for:
University or TAFE music students
Working musicians, singers and performers looking to supplement their income
Experienced piano or vocal teachers looking for a new environment
Musicians wanting to develop a career in music education
Someone looking to transition into teaching as a longer-term career
We'd still love to hear from you.
If you're interested but aren't sure whether your availability, experience or current circumstances are the right fit, please don't hesitate to apply.
We'd rather have a conversation and explore what might be possible than have a great candidate decide not to apply.
We'll review your application and be in touch to discuss the opportunity further.
If you're a great communicator, love working with people and want the opportunity to build something rather than simply take on a fixed timetable, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply now and tell us a little about yourself, your musical background, what instruments you play and why you think you'd be a great fit for My Music Academy.
