About the role
Burleigh Heads (Gold Coast) | $90K–$110K+ incl. super, with a pathway beyond | Unlimited CPD Budget | Flexible Hours
You've built your foundations — at least 3 years in paediatrics as a Speech Pathologist — and now you're ready for a role that treats you like the capable clinician you've become. Not another new-grad program. Real autonomy, a caseload ready and waiting, and a genuine progression pathway.
Our much-valued SP team member at Burleigh Heads has relocated, leaving a caseload of little people aged 2.5–12 years who need a Speechie who values making meaningful progress in a multidisciplinary setting. This role has clients ready for you to support.
Hi, I'm Bec, Co-founder and Managing Director of Progress Pathways. Over the past 4.5 years, our small but mighty team of 13 therapists has built three thriving practices across Kedron, North Lakes, and Burleigh Heads.
A Speech Pathologist who:
Has 3+ years of paediatric experience (ideally having completed their early-career years in a paeds setting) and is ready to step into greater autonomy and responsibility
Has established skills — or a hunger to develop them — in feeding, AAC, literacy and/or video interaction
Wants to focus on children under 12, with care that extends to their families
Is self-driven, and excited by the opportunity to be on a multidisciplinary team of paediatric Occupational Therapists and another full time Speech Pathologist (also supported in your professional development by our broader Speech Pathology team at Kedron)
We also warmly welcome parents returning to work seeking a flexible, family-friendly role (minimum 3 days per week), and candidates considering relocation — ask us about relocation support.
$90,000–$110,000 (including super), based on experience. Progression through the range is tied to clear, transparent caseload and capability milestones we'll walk you through at interview — plus laptop and travel allowance
A defined caseload: you'll build to approximately 23-27 client-facing hours per week, scaled to your experience — we'll be upfront about exactly what this looks like
Unlimited CPD — budget AND time: pursue the training that excites you. Course fees, travel, accommodation, and paid time away from normal duties are all included
Up to 5 weeks of annual leave – earn bonus leave from your first 6 months (100% of our North Lakes team did last year)
Flexible work design – 4-day week, 9-day fortnight, or flexible hours
Our speech team is led by a senior SP with over 20 years of experience, who has been with Progress Pathways from the beginning. You can expect:
Fortnightly 1:1 supervision with a senior Speech Pathologist (delivered remotely from our Kedron clinic)
Speech team group supervision every 4 weeks across all three sites (delivered online)
Fortnightly whole-team meetings (delivered online), fortnightly local team meetings (in person) and weekly check-ins with your local team leader (in person or online)
A larger pool of expertise than a single-site clinic — you're drawing on three clinics' worth of clinical knowledge, not one leader's
Beautiful, welcoming, light-filled clinic co-located with Delta Gymnastics – spacious, well-resourced, with genuinely unique therapy opportunities
A multidisciplinary team of two OTs and an SP, proudly supporting families across the southern end of the Gold Coast
AI-integrated admin to reduce paperwork, and a strict "no laptops on the lunch table" rule — work stays within work hours
Registration – Current SPA membership, eligible to work in Queensland
3+ years of paediatric experience – you've set your foundations and you're ready to progress
Communication & Collaboration – strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues
Autonomy – comfortable driving your own caseload with structured support behind you
NDIS Experience – including report writing, highly valued
Early Intervention – experience with 2–4 year olds is advantageous (a number of waitlisted clients are in this bracket)
