About the role
Your Role as Youth Development Worker – Specialist Youth Housing Service
As a Youth Development Worker with our Specialist Youth Housing Service (SYHS), you will provide person-centred case management to young people aged between 16-25 through outreach, advocacy and housing support and strengthening community connections.
Key responsibilities include:
Conduct assessments to identify client needs, risks and eligibility for support services.
Provide case management, advocacy and practical support to help young people achieve stable housing outcomes.
Develop, implement and review individual support plans with clients.
Build strong partnerships and coordinate referrals with community services and key stakeholders.
Deliver person-centred, strengths-based support that promotes independence and wellbeing.
Maintain accurate case notes, reports, client records and program data.
Ensure all work is carried out in line with safety, compliance and organisational policies.
Collaborate with team members, participate in training and supervision, and support volunteers or students when required.
This is a part-time position consisting of 30 hours per week.

What We’re Looking For
Degree qualification in Human Services, Social Work, Community Services or a related field, or equivalent experience in the sector.
Experience providing trauma-informed, person-centred case management, including assessments, care planning, advocacy and referrals.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with young people facing complex challenges.
Ability to work collaboratively with community services and stakeholders while managing client outcomes, records and administrative requirements.
Essential Requirements
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status (or as required by legislation and WMQ policy)
Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ Limited policy.
Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel for work
