Senior Consultant, Risk Advisory Services

Join Melbourne's fast-growing Risk Advisory Services team as a Senior Consultant, Internal Audit & Risk Advisory. 

You'll work closely with Managers, Senior Managers, Directors and Partners to help clients strengthen governance, manage risk and improve performance through the delivery of internal audit and risk advisory engagements. BDO's Risk Advisory Services team partners with clients to strengthen governance, risk management and organisational performance. 

Our services include internal audit, governance reviews, risk management, regulatory compliance, controls assurance, board and committee effectiveness, and broader risk advisory solutions.

Key Responsibilities 

• Support the delivery of internal audit and risk advisory engagements under the guidance of Managers, Senior Managers, Directors and Partners. 

• Lead components of client engagements, including planning, stakeholder interviews, fieldwork, testing, analysis and reporting. 

• Assess governance, risk management and internal processes and controls, including identify opportunities for improvement. 

• Support the development of risk-based internal audit programs and testing approaches. 

• Build effective working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders. 

• Prepare high-quality reports, presentations and client deliverables. 

• Work collaboratively to deliver engagements within agreed budgets and timelines. 

• Coach and support junior team members while contributing to a positive and collaborative team culture. 

• Contribute to proposal preparation, client presentations and broader practice development initiatives where appropriate. 

About You 

• Experience in Internal Audit, Risk Advisory, Assurance, Governance, Risk & Compliance or a related field. 

• Experience delivering internal audit engagements, risk assessments, controls reviews, governance reviews or compliance-related projects. 

• Understanding of governance, risk management and internal control frameworks. 

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills. 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and client engagement experience. 

• Relevant tertiary qualification, with professional certifications such as CA, CPA, CIA or equivalent highly regarded. 

• A people-centric mindset with a passion for delivering practical and commercially focused outcomes for clients.
