About the role
The Opportunity
Bhagwan Marine is a proud national Australian marine services company who provide a diverse range of marine solutions within Ports, Nearshore, Offshore and Subsea locations. Our Darwin operation is looking for a dedicated QHSE Coordinator to join the team.
Reporting to the HSE Manager, the QHSE Coordinator plays a critical role in developing, implementing, and improving our health, safety, and environmental standards by promoting a culture of safety and sustainability across all of our operations.
Through our QHSE department, Bhagwan Marine is committed to upholding and continually improving quality, environmental, and health and safety standards – we demonstrate this by maintaining compliance with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System; ISO14001:2015 Environmental Management System; and ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders on the delivery of QHSE expectations.
Develop, review and implement company and or client-specific QHSE processes and programs.
Analyse and report QHSE performance metrics, identify trends, and recommend improvements to support risk reduction, compliance, and continual improvement.
Lead incident management and ensure appropriate investigation methodology is applied to prevent further events.
Conduct regular HSE assurance activities (i.e. inspections and audits) as defined within the company integrated management systems.
Lead the coordination of early intervention and injury management programs to ensure timely return to work.
What we’re looking for:
We are seeking a proactive QHSE professional with at least 5 years' operational experience, a strong understanding of QHSE management systems and standards, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to confidently interpret, develop, and review complex company and client documentation. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who thrives on taking ownership, driving improvements, and collaborating with operational teams to deliver positive QHSE outcomes.
Qualifications:
Essential
• Cert IV in Work Health & Safety (or related discipline)
• Incident Investigation (ICAM or TapRoot®)
• Lead Auditor certificate
Desired
• Tertiary Qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety or Environmental Management
• MSIC (or ability to obtain)
• Defence Clearance (or ability to obtain)
