Allied Health Professional - Continuing Care Team - Extended Hours

Please note this position is also being advertised as Clinical Nurse Specialist -Continuing Care Team - Extended Hours (530522) and only one position will be filled on merit. 

The Team:

The Clarence and Eastern Continuing Care Team is a multi-disciplinary team providing mental health support to clients with severe and enduring mental illness. We cover a broad geographical area across the Clarence and Eastern districts, stretching up towards the East Coast and down the Tasman Peninsula. 

We work closely with other services to deliver excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.

The Role:

• Works with a high-level of autonomy at the individual team level and is responsible for the efficient and effective assessment and treatment of both individuals referred for case management/care co-ordination and individuals of the designated team/broader stream presenting with mental health problems and crises after-hours and on weekends.
• Is required to function as a single practitioner working within established decision-making and operational frameworks to provide effective care and treatment to assigned clients and clients of the broader team when indicated.
• Maintains productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, meeting difficult and sometimes conflicting objectives or competing priorities and undertakes conflict resolution through negotiation and mediation to resolve escalated issues.

You will need:

1. Demonstrated discipline-specific high-level skills, knowledge and clinical expertise in the area of Mental Health.
2. Demonstrated advanced written and oral communication, liaison, interpersonal and counselling skills within a multidisciplinary team environment, including the ability to function confidently and negotiate recommendations for patient care across a wide range of stakeholder groups.
3. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and documentation, including the Mental Health Act 2013, Right to Information Act, Work Health & Safety legislation, relevant statutory requirements and Agency policies and procedures.

Details of appointment:

Permanent full-time, shift worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. 

*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary:

$117,272 to $126,182 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

• Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2025.

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Allowances

Please note that access to salaries beyond $123,487 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme 

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: 

• Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

• Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant National Board or, in the case of self-regulated allied health professions, full membership/eligible for membership with the relevant professional association

• Current Working with Children Registration (where applicable as determined by individual position requirements)

• Current Driver’s Licence
