QUALIFIED ECT/2IC/Diploma Educators Required for immediate start

Our privately owned child care centres are well known for the quality of service we provide and strive to deliver to our community.

Our services are based within the growing Liverpool location and cares for up to 60 children per day between the ages of 0-6, Monday to Friday ( 7am -6pm).

We are a multicultural community and pride ourselves on being also a sustainable centre and implementing natural resources to enhance all play based learning for our children.

Our bilingual team strives to ensure that we provide a welcoming and supportive environment, for all parents, staff members and children who attend our service.

THE ROLE:

This unique position is unlike your 'normal' 9-5 position.

This role requires the suitable applicant to work directly side by side with the DIRECTOR as a 2IC.

This role enables you to be on and off the floor, to support and assist the staff in their day to day needs, training and mentoring them daily.

As a 2IC, your role will require someone who is passionate and strives to lift and support this amazing centre. You will assist by implementing and evaluating innovative ideas ensuring a high quality Early Childhood program for the children.

The suitable applicant must be a strong communicator with leadership experience. You must assist and work towards continually developing the QIP alongside the director and supervisor to ensure the highest quality standards that this service requires.

The suitable applicant will be offered fulltime employment with a Job share role.

The suitable applicant MUST hold a

-Bachelor of Early childhood Education and care

-current first aid certificate,

-current working with children's check.

The Bachelor qualification is required specifically for the 2IC position, while Diploma qualified educators are sought for separate educator roles within our team.

Job Description:

• Maintain a sound and current understanding of the National Quality Standard and National Framework.

• Maintain a working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework.

• Maintain awareness of current issues in children's services.

• Demonstrate an ability to work in partnerships with families.

• Demonstrate a professional level of written and verbal communication skills.

• Maintain and demonstrate an extensive knowledge of Child Protection legislation and its implications for the care and protection of children.

• Maintain and demonstrate an extensive knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety legislation and safety issues relating to children and staff.

• Provide ongoing support and assistance as required to the Nominated Supervisor in areas of administration, program development, parent and community networking, staff professional development and training, and other areas as requested.

• Facilitate the successful implementation of the Quality Improvement Plan as per the service's routine

• Inform the Nominated Supervisor of any issue arising that may compromise the children's health, safety, or wellbeing, or the efficient operation of the service.

• Perform any other duties, within the scope of the position, as specified by the Nominated Supervisor.

• Support the Educational Leader in overseeing programming that promotes commitment to continual improvement to the quality of care provided within the room.

• To follow, and guide and support room colleagues to follow housekeeping practices which ensure that equipment is maintained at an optimal level.

• To support the Nominated Supervisor in ensuring that the physical environment complies with the Education and Care Services National Regulations.

• Assist in, and provide guidance and support to room colleagues to ensure the completion of the daily, weekly and monthly duties (cleaning, maintenance etc.) to ensure a safe, clean and hygienic environment that is welcoming to all.

• Assist in, and provide guidance and support to room colleagues to ensure an environment that is interesting and appealing.

• Always act within the guidelines set out in the Code of Ethics (Early Childhood Australia Inc.)

• Assist with the successful implementation of the Quality Improvement Plan and Accreditation System as per the Service's routine.

In relation to the Essential Requirements for Employment under the Education and Care Services National Regulations:

• Maintain the ability to satisfy the criteria for appointment as a Early Childhood Teacher.

• Maintain an understanding of all principles related to child protection.
