We are seeking a Senior Workshop Technician - Fabrication to join Faculty Operations, Faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice.

What you need to succeed

• Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to a Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline with subsequent relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training involving creative production, and workshop studio management.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues, including within teams in a creative environment, and internal and external clients, suppliers and other staff within the Faculty.
• Ability to develop creative and novel solutions to achieve continuous improvement.
• Well-developed demonstration and technical advice delivery skills, and the ability to apply specialist knowledge and skills in educational environments to assist in the identification and resolution of issues.
• Demonstrated specialist understanding of a broad range of equipment and processes and their practical application within a learning environment. Including applying engineering principals to concepts, operating and demonstrating industrial machines, welding equipment, paint and finish equipment, and processes for print making, ceramics, sculpture, 3D fabrication and design prototyping.
• Demonstrated ability to accurately review and interpret instructions of a conceptual nature; to relate relevant knowledge to relevant disciplines, and to produce technical reports, communications and documentation to a high standard.
• Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and Indigenous Australian engagement.
