Medical Secretary — Surgical Practice
St Leonards, NSW 2065 | Part-Time, 4 days/week
We are looking for an efficient Medical secretary to join our busy surgical practice, working closely with the Practice Principal, Practice Manager, and Executive Assistant. This role offers genuine variety and responsibility — you will be the first point of contact for our patients and a key part of keeping the practice running smoothly day to day

Job role:
Answering patient calls and triaging referrals
Preparing medical files for patient clinics and running the clinics with the practice principal.
Coordinate public hospital waiting and theatre lists
Assisting patients with pre and post-operative care to support their recovery
Medical typing, including correspondence, reports and clinical letters
Maintaining accurate, confidential patient records in line with practice policy
Assisting with billing, quotations and surgical diaries
Liaising with GPs, specialists and allied health professionals to support coordinated patient care
Monitoring clinic stock and coordinating supply orders
Supporting the wider team with other tasks as needed
What you will bring to the role:
Medical administration experience (required)
Experience with Blue Chip and Medical Director (preferred but not essential)
Accurate, confident medical typing
Excellent organisational and time management skills
A warm, professional manner
A collaborative approach — we are a small, close-knit team
Drivers licence and Police check

4 days per week (days TBD) with potential to increase hours.
The main office is in St Leonards with fortnightly travel required to our Wahroonga practice.
