Sports Coach

About the role

Roo's Champs Pty Ltd is seeking enthusiastic and energetic coaches to join our growing team in Sydney's Northern Beaches. You'll deliver fun, soccer-based, sports classes for children aged 1–6. Classes are in Mona Vale, Warriewood, Cromer, Dee Why and Manly - on Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings. This is a casual position supporting your work-life balance, within a positive and friendly environment, with a focus on teamwork and training for your professional development.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, age-appropriate soccer-based sports classes for children aged 1 to under 6 years

• Engage with children and their parents and grand-parents with enthusiasm and clear communication in every session, to provide encouragement and guidance, tailoring exercises to skill levels of participants

• Represent Roo's Champs with enthusiasm and professionalism, including explaining to parents and grand-parents our program and enrolment options

• Set up sports equipment in the sports halls in line with class plans, and pack down

• Create a positive, safe, inclusive and fun environment for kids and parents and grand-parents, including adhering to all relevant policies, procedures and safety standards and completing training required

About you

• Passion for playing and competing in sports and enthusiasm for passing these skills on by coaching young children

• Existing coaching experience, preferably with young children

• Existing coaching qualifications preferred (Level 1 Coaching Accreditation, from National Sporting Organisations, recognised by the Australian Sports Commission), or willingness to work towards this

• Willingness to learn and grow as a coach through Roo's Champs Coaching Academy

• Interest in supporting Roo's Champs as we expand our services, such as classes for champs with disability and daycare classes

• Great communication, interpersonal skills and salesmanship, with the ability to motivate participants and to engage with parents and grand-parents about our program and enrolment options

• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities

• Existing legal entitlement to work in Australia

• Current Working With Children (WWC) Employee Check and National Police Check

• First Aid and CPR certification

• Availability to work at multiple classes weekly. Our classes are, in the mornings, during term-time, on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays

• Own transport and willingness to travel to our locations around Sydney's Northern Beaches. Our locations are Manly, Dee Why, Cromer, Warriewood and Mona Vale

Roo's Champs Pty Ltd provides soccer-based sports coaching classes in Sydney's Northern Beaches. Our classes are packed with fun exercises and games to train young children 1 to under 6, in 12 core skills, over 6 levels. We provide individualised coaching and a supportive environment at our classes. Our friendly community of member families participate enthusiastically in our classes. Our coaches are highly motivated and energetic, passionate about sports and skilled in coaching young children.
