We're a family-rooted Vietnamese restaurant serving authentic dishes made with fresh ingredients and recipes passed down through generations — pho, banh mi, noodle salads, rice bowls, and fresh spring rolls, in a warm space where our motto is simple: come in, sit down, and let us feed you.

We're looking for an experienced Front of House Supervisor to help lead our floor team and keep every service running smoothly.

The Role

As Front of House Supervisor, you'll take ownership of the guest experience during your shift — leading the floor team, coordinating service between front and back of house, and stepping in wherever needed to keep things running smoothly. You'll also help train and mentor junior staff, ensuring ANQ's standards of warmth, speed, and hospitality are met every service.

Employment type: Casual / Part-time (with a pathway to permanent hours for the right person) Location: Hawthorn or Marryatville (shifts across both venues may be available) Hours: Includes evenings and weekends across our 7-day trading week

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the front-of-house team during service, allocating sections and managing table flow
• Open and/or close the venue, including cash handling, till reconciliation, and end-of-shift reporting
• Train, coach, and support junior front-of-house and dishy/runner staff
• Handle guest feedback and resolve issues promptly and professionally
• Manage bookings, walk-ins, and floor plans to maximise cover flow, especially during peak periods
• Liaise with the kitchen to keep service timing and communication smooth
• Ensure compliance with responsible service of alcohol, food safety, and workplace health and safety standards
• Monitor stock levels for front-of-house consumables and report shortages
• Step into any front-of-house role as needed — greeting, serving, or running — to support the team

About You

• Previous experience in a front-of-house supervisor, senior waiter/waitress, or similar leadership role in hospitality
• Confident leading a team and staying calm and organised under pressure during busy service
• Excellent communication and guest-service skills, with a genuine warmth toward people
• Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgement when handling guest or staff issues
• Reliable, hands-on, and willing to work alongside the team, not just direct it
• Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certificate required
• Available to work evenings and weekends
• Vietnamese language skills are preferred, though not essential — many of our regular guests and team members speak Vietnamese, and it's a bonus if you do too
