Sloanebuilt Trailers are seeking a skilled Engineering Technologist for permanent full-time employment with a background in the Heavy Vehicle Manufacturing Industry.

Position
We are seeking to appoint a highly experienced and skilled candidate for full-time employment with a background in the Heavy Vehicle Manufacturing Industry for the Engineering Technologist position.

We require an Engineering Technology who has experience applying engineering technology to support the design and manufacture of heavy vehicle trailers, analysing and improving manufacturing processes and production methods, preparing engineering drawings, technical documentation and specifications, conducting engineering calculations, testing and product validation, investigating production and quality issues and implementing engineering solutions, ensuring compliance with Australian Design Rules (ADR), Australian Standards and customer requirements, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to improve product performance, manufacturing efficiency and quality.

Requirements

To be eligible for this role, applicants must:

• Be willing to work a 38 hour week.
• Hold a relevant Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Have a minimum of 1 year's experience as an Engineering Technologist or in a similar engineering role.
• Be self-motivated and able to work independently as required.

The Candidate

The successful candidate must be someone who prides themselves in producing high quality work with good interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude. They must be capable of multitasking, organising tasks and working unsupervised.

• Relevant Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 1 year's experience as an Engineering Technologist or in a similar engineering role.
• Practical CAD and 3D modelling experience using SolidWorks.
• Practical experience conducting finite element analysis (FEA) using software such as ANSYS.
• Sound knowledge of project management principles, practices, procedures and software.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings and preparing technical documentation.
• Experience applying engineering technology to develop and improve manufacturing processes, production methods, product performance, and operational efficiency.
• Experience conducting engineering calculations, testing and product validation.
• Experience investigating technical or manufacturing issues and implementing engineering solutions.
• Knowledge of Australian Design Rules (ADR), Australian Standards and engineering compliance requirements.
• Experience with heavy vehicle trailer design, structural steel fabrication or transport equipment manufacturing will be highly regarded.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Dedicated to maintaining and promoting safe work practices.
• Strong commitment to meeting customer requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Remuneration

$95,000 - $105,000 per year dependent on skills and experience.
Remuneration can be negotiated with the successful applicant at the interview stage.
