Service Desk Engineer

SMS Mining Services is seeking a proactive, solutions-focused and collaborative individual who is passionate about technology, enjoys solving problems and building strong relationships, and is motivated to continuously improve systems, processes and the overall technology experience across the business.
  
Reporting to the General Manager – Technology, this role offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the growth and development of the Technology team. The position will focus on building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, while identifying opportunities to enhance and improve existing systems, processes and technology capabilities across the business. As the first point of contact for hardware, software and network-related issues, you will be well positioned to strengthen our internal IT capabilities, improve the user experience and demonstrate the value that technology brings to the wider business.
  
This role will suit a proactive and solutions-focused individual who enjoys working with technology, solving problems and building strong relationships with people across the business, while also having an interest in improving systems, processes and the overall user experience.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

• Act as the first point of contact for all hardware, software and network-related issues across the business.
• Log, assess and prioritise technical issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
• Provide technical support across a range of systems and platforms, including Windows, mobile devices and remote access solutions.
• Maintain and support IT systems, ensuring software, hardware and applications are kept up to date and operating effectively.
• Manage user onboarding and offboarding processes, including hardware allocation, asset tracking and access requirements.
• Develop, maintain and improve internal user guides and technical documentation to support users and promote continuous improvement.
• Liaise with software providers to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues when required.

About You
 
You are an experienced, customer-focused IT professional with a strong background in IT Support and Service Desk environments. You communicate confidently and effectively, both written and verbally, and take pride in delivering accurate, responsive support.
  
You will bring:

• At least 2 years demonstrated experience in an IT Support or Service Desk role
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong customer-focused approach
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, particularly Teams and SharePoint
• A tertiary qualification in IT or a related field is highly advantageous
• A collaborative team player who enjoys working in a small, supportive team
• A genuine passion for learning, sharing knowledge and expanding your IT skillset
• A positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges
• Based in Perth, Western Australia
