Overview of Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Quality Control Officer (SQCO) to join the operations team at our Acacia Ridge site, reporting to the Quality Manager. The objective of the SQCO is the provision of quality control at a site level, ensuring the highest service levels for our customers.
This is a very hands-on role that requires close links with operations, R&D, sales, supply chain and customer service to ensure that quality control is systematic, controlled and managed.
The key areas of focus are:
Provide effective quality control across the site
Maintain and improve effective quality systems, including product safety
Maintain and improve systems for process control and product compliance to specification
Manage and maintain an effective non-conformance and corrective action system
Process non-conformance, root cause and corrective action where required
Ensure cost of quality is actively measured and reduced over time
Ensure successful completion of all internal and external quality audits.
Knowledge and Experience
Experience in quality control in manufacturing with a background in flexible packaging highly desirable
Ideally an understanding and experience in quality management systems and auditing
Ideally experience in statistical techniques and statistical process control
Experience in the use of laboratory and scientific measurement equipment
Experience in the use of computers and computer-based programs such as Word, Excel etc
Education and Certifications
You may have further education and training in quality management
You may have a bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Science, Chemistry or Material Science
Job Specific skills and abilities
Demonstrated ability to analytically review system or product issues.
Strong communication skills both verbal and written
Ability to collaborate and influence outcomes and change
Results oriented, tenacity and perseverance
