Community Engagement Officer

• 4 Month Fixed Term Contract

About the Role: 

Consent Labs is seeking a Community Engagement Officer to support the delivery of a current education project. This role would suit someone with experience in community engagement, consultation, and a strong commitment to education, social impact and youth participation. We’re looking for someone who can build trusted relationships with diverse communities and contribute thoughtfully to consultation processes that inform curriculum and resource development.

Roles and Responsibilities: 

Community Engagement

• Build and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders, including young people, parents and carers, practitioners, community leaders, experts and partner organisations.
• Engage meaningfully with priority communities, particularly culturally and linguistically diverse communities in Greater Western Sydney, and regional/rural/remote communities.
• Facilitate inclusive co-design and consultation activities to inform curriculum and resource development.
• Ensure engagement approaches are culturally safe, accessible and responsive to community needs.

Insight Synthesis

• Review and synthesise insights gathered through the consultation activities.
• Identify key themes, opportunities and recommendations to inform curriculum design, resource development and educational outcomes.

Project Support

• Contribute to project planning and delivery, including documentation, stakeholder coordination and reporting as required.

Key Success Measures:

• Community-informed outcomes: Consultation is inclusive, culturally safe, and meaningfully shapes curriculum and project decisions.
• Strong collaboration: Effective relationships are built across communities, stakeholders and internal teams, with adaptability and responsiveness in a fast-paced environment.
• Timely project delivery: Agreed outputs are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with project and organisational objectives.
