About the company

Our client, a high performing, growing ASX listed company, is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its team.

Our client offers lawyers the opportunity to enjoy a broad in-house role in a well established mid sized legal team. You will have exposure to large and complex projects and work closely with the business and Executive Leadership Team. This is a company that brings its inhouse lawyers in early so you see matters from setting strategy through to completion. 

About the role

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of interesting and dynamic legal, risk and project matters across the business.

You will be responsible for delivering comprehensive, strategic legal advice and services to enable the organisation to achieve its core objectives. You will provide legal advice to a range of stakeholders across the entire business in relation to project agreements and corporate related matters including complex commercial contracts, tenders, procurement, project delivery risks and project-related disputes. You will also assist with governance and compliance requirements and support Corporate Functions such as IT, HR and Procurement.

About you

This opportunity suits lawyers with approx. 4-6 years’ experience (if you are either side of this, we are still keen to hear from you).   You may have already made the move inhouse or this opportunity presents a change from private practice and a fantastic first step inhouse. You’re willing to learn new skills and committed to providing high level legal services. Candidates with experience in general commercial law (including contracting) are suited to the opportunity but if you have a specialisation and seeking to broaden out, please apply. This permanent role is based in the Melbourne CBD and offers a flexible, hybrid working model.
