Operating under the BestDrive network, the workshop provides high-quality mechanical repairs, diagnostics, servicing, and tyre solutions for light vehicles and 4WDs. We are currently seeking a qualified Motor Mechanic to join our team at our Hindmarsh workshop.

Key Duties

The successful candidate will perform duties :

• Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines, systems, and vehicle components

• Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other mechanical components for inspection

• Checking, testing, and assessing parts for wear, damage, and serviceability

• Repairing and replacing worn, defective, or damaged components

• Reassembling mechanical components and engines after repair in accordance with service manuals and manufacturer specifications

• Performing scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrication, filter replacement, and engine tune-ups to ensure smooth vehicle operation and compliance with emission standards

• Testing, adjusting, and fine-tuning mechanical systems and components after repair to ensure proper performance and safety

• Diagnosing and testing vehicle systems and components using electronic diagnostic tools and computer-based equipment

• Inspecting vehicles and, where authorised, issuing roadworthiness assessments or identifying repairs required to achieve compliance

• Responding to vehicle breakdown service calls when required

• Maintaining accurate service records, job cards, and repair documentation

• Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements and manufacturer guidelines

Skills & Requirements

• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification recognised in Australia

• Minimum 3 year experience in automotive repair or workshop environment

• Strong diagnostic skills in mechanical and electrical systems

• Experience using computer-based diagnostic tools

• Ability to read and interpret service manuals and technical specifications

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship

• Ability to work independently and within a team environment

• Valid driver’s licence
