About the role
We are looking for a high-calibre Associate and/or Senior Associate with approx. 4-8 years of post-admission experience, ideally from a leading mid-top tier national or international firm or in-house team. This role can be based in Sydney, Canberra or Melbourne.
We are specifically seeking candidates who have a passion for, and experience in any one or more of the following key areas of practice:
Technology transactions (including procurement, sourcing and general contracting), AI governance and risk management frameworks (desirable);Complex privacy compliance advisory, to include spam and surveillance regulatory advisory matters; and/orCyber preparedness and incident response
In each case across a variety of sectors and industries, including for regulated entities. Experience either in Australia or overseas. International candidates are welcome to apply.

Strong technical skills and academics from a leading Australian or international universityAbility to communicate effectively and professionally (written and verbal) including to distil complex issues into easily understood advice tailored to the client’s understanding.Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly build rapport with clients, colleagues and key stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to be curious about client industries, sectors and develop knowledge quicklyDemonstrated skillset to manage timeframes and proactively manage priorities within a team, including to manage team members where needed and applicable to your roleCollaborative working style with a solutions-oriented mindsetAn interest in business development, profile-building and mentoring junior lawyersA strong interest in AI and emerging technologies, and a willingness to develop and enhance expertise in how these can be safely and effectively deployed within legal practice and for clients
