Role Description The Supervisor role at Maize Group is a full-time, on-site position based in the Wollongong area. The Supervisor will oversee day-to-day construction and maintenance activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and in line with quality standards and government requirements. This role includes coordinating site teams, managing subcontractors, monitoring progress against project plans, and addressing issues that arise on site. The Supervisor will review work for compliance with specifications, support safety procedures and regulations, and communicate regularly with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders. The position also involves maintaining accurate site records, reporting on project status, and contributing to continuous improvement in processes and service delivery.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience supervising construction or maintenance projects, ideally within government or public infrastructure environments.Strong skills in site coordination, team leadership, and stakeholder communication to manage daily operations and resolve on-site issues.Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and quality assurance practices relevant to housing, railway, and commercial facilities.Ability to interpret project plans, schedules, and specifications, with sound problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.Proficiency in basic project documentation, reporting, and use of digital tools for communication and record-keeping.Relevant trade qualification or diploma in construction, building, or a related field; supervisory tickets or certifications are highly regarded.Proven commitment to workplace health and safety, risk management, and maintaining a respectful, inclusive work environment.Valid driver’s license and capacity to travel between sites within the Wollongong and broader NSW area as required.
