Head Barista

Caffe Ducale, part of DC Specialty Coffee Roasters, is a premium Melbourne-owned and operated coffee roaster by Industry Beans. We combine traditional Italian coffee flavours with the knowledge, sourcing, roasting, and craftsmanship of Melbourne Specialty Coffee.

In August 2026, Caffe Ducale will open its second espresso bar in Southland Westfield. The Espresso bar will focus on both dine in and take-away high-volume coffee and freshly roasted retail coffee, bringing together modern coffee equipment with unique Italian styled architecture and design.

The Role

We’re looking for a Head Barista to join the leadership team of the espresso bar, brewing delicious coffee while helping to lead a passionate barista team and deliver a fun, engaging customer experience.

This Position Offers:

• A brand new espresso bar in Westfield Southland
• Induction, training and development for those who aspire to learn and grow
• Support from an experienced Café Manager, Coffee Roasters & Management team
• The opportunity to manage the coffee program, including training and developing all baristas
• Leadership responsibilities as 2IC, supporting the Café Manager in day-to-day operations, including opening and closing, team supervision, and maintaining service standards

You will be perfect for this role if you have:

• A passion for coffee and customer service
• Experience in a senior barista role, ideally brewing specialty coffee
• High quality barista skills (latte art, dialling in, troubleshooting etc.)
• A strong work ethic with a customer-focused attitude
• A positive and professional demeanour
• Confidence to step into a leadership capacity, guiding and supporting the team in the Café Manager’s absence
• The ability to work a full-time role that includes a variety of weekdays and weekends
