About the role

Join Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) Science and Insights team and contribute to the delivery of some of NSW's most significant land and vegetation monitoring programs. As a Remote Sensing Scientist, you'll leverage advanced remote sensing, high performance compute, and spatial analysis techniques to generate the scientific evidence that informs environmental management, regulatory activities and policy development across the state.
Working alongside a highly skilled team of scientists and spatial specialists, you'll transform complex geospatial data into meaningful insights, deliver innovative analytical solutions, and contribute to evidence-based decisions that support the sustainable management of NSW's landscapes, ecosystems and natural resources.
About You
You are an experienced remote sensing or GIS professional with a strong foundation in spatial data analysis and environmental science. You have experience working in a team to deliver a remote sensing and GIS solutions. You are passionate about interpreting and analysing remotely sensed imagery, managing complex geospatial datasets and delivering scientifically robust projects to benefit the environment.
You combine technical expertise with sound judgement, enabling you to identify trends, solve complex problems and develop practical solutions. With strong communication skills, you're able to deliver high-quality outcomes while working across multiple priorities.

DCCEEW conserves and protects the state’s natural environment. It manages the NSW national park estate, including its rich and diverse biodiversity and Aboriginal cultural heritage for future generations.
DCCEEW also ensures sustainable management of water resources across the state, to support the environment, communities and industry.
