Cyber Security Analyst – Vulnerability ManagementInitial 3-Month Contract | Melbourne CBD | Hybrid
We are seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to join a well-established enterprise Cyber Security team on an initial three-month contract.The role will focus on vulnerability management across a complex technology environment. You will work closely with infrastructure, cloud and application teams to identify, assess and support the remediation of security vulnerabilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid to senior-level Cyber Security professional looking to develop their experience within a mature enterprise security environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform vulnerability assessments using Tenable.io or Tenable.sc.Analyse vulnerability scan results and prioritise remediation activities.Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud and application teams to coordinate remediation.Track outstanding vulnerabilities and ensure remediation activities are progressing.Validate remediation outcomes through re-scanning and reporting.Assist with vulnerability reporting, metrics and dashboards.Maintain accurate vulnerability records and supporting documentation.Assist with broader cyber security operational activities when required.
Skills and Experience4 - 5 years or more experience in a Cyber Security Analyst, Security Operations or Vulnerability Management role.Hands-on experience with Tenable.io, Tenable.sc or Nessus.A good understanding of vulnerability management processes.Knowledge of CVEs, CVSS scoring and common security vulnerabilities.Exposure to Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft environments.A basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS and firewalls.Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical stakeholders.
Desirable ExperienceExposure to Azure or other Microsoft cloud technologies.Experience with Microsoft Defender or related Microsoft security products.Familiarity with ServiceNow or a comparable ITSM platform.Experience supporting vulnerability remediation activities.Security certifications such as Security+, SC-900 or AZ-500.
