7 day Rotating Roster. Shifts between 5am – Midnight, including weekends and public holidays

The Role 

We’re seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Sous Chef to join the Crown Events & Conferences team.

As a Chef, you’ll create joyful moments through genuine care and connection, guided by Crown’s 4Cs of Service Excellence—Be Courteous, Connect, Create, and Care—ensuring every interaction reflects our commitment to elevated hospitality.

In this role, you’ll be:

• Supporting the daily operations of the banquets kitchen, catering for functions from 10 to 2000 guests.

• Providing coaching, mentorship and leadership to a large kitchen brigade.

• Contributing to the development and execution of high-quality menus across banquets, events and catering operations.

• Maintaining exceptional food quality, presentation standards and kitchen compliance.

About you 

You’ll bring the following:

• Proven experience in a Sous Chef or similar leadership role within high-volume events, banquets, premium catering or hospitality environments.

• Strong leadership skills, including the ability to lead, train and mentor large culinary teams in fast-paced operations.

• Passion for quality food, innovation and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

• Ability to work FT across a 7 day rotating roster

• Strong business acumen with the ability to monitor food and labour costs while maintaining operational excellence.

• Sound understanding of food safety, kitchen compliance and best practice operations.

• This role requires Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
