The Opportunity

This role is ideal for an experienced Mechanical Engineer ready to step into a Lead role, with a strong focus on data centres and mission‑critical facilities.

You’ll be part of a high-performing, collaborative team, working across major projects locally and nationally. You will lead mechanical design from concept through to delivery, ensuring solutions are efficient, resilient, and future-ready.

What You’ll Do

Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services (HVAC) for data centres and other complex facilitiesTake ownership of technical quality, coordination, and documentation across projectsDevelop solutions that support high availability, redundancy, and energy efficiency in mission‑critical environmentsWork directly with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to drive successful outcomesProvide leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineersContribute to project planning, risk management, and commercial outcomesSupport the growth of WSP’s data centre capability in WA and nationally

About You

Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)8+ years’ experience in building services consultingStrong technical expertise in HVAC systems and mechanical services designExperience delivering complex or large-scale projects (data centre or mission‑critical experience highly regarded)Confident leading design packages and engaging with stakeholdersChartered / CPEng (or working towards) highly regardedStrong communication skills with a collaborative and proactive approach
