About the role
About Us
We are a specialised paediatric feeding therapy service with locations in Kensington and Littlehampton, supporting children and families experiencing challenges with mealtimes, feeding, and functional participation in everyday activities.
Our service provides holistic, family-centred therapy using evidence-informed practice to support children’s development, sensory regulation, emotional wellbeing, and functional independence. We work closely with families to provide practical strategies that support positive mealtime experiences and participation in daily life within different community and family settings.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Speech Pathologist with demonstrated experience in paediatric feeding therapy to join our team on a part time basis.
This role will primarily involve providing feeding therapy to children and their families across our Kensington, Littlehampton and Victor Harbor locations.
You will support children experiencing a range of feeding and mealtime challenges, including:
Restricted food variety and food refusal
Difficulties progressing through food textures and consistencies
Oral motor and feeding skill difficulties
Eating and drinking difficulties
Mealtime participation challenges
Sensory related feeding difficulties
Complex feeding presentations
Supporting families to develop positive and sustainable mealtime routines
You will work collaboratively with families and our multidisciplinary team, including Dietitians to provide coordinated and individualised feeding therapy.
The position will be offered for 6 months, with the possibility of extension for the right candidate.
About You
We are looking for an experienced Speech Pathologist who is passionate about feeding therapy.
You will also have:
· Tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology
· Current Speech Pathology Australia membership and eligibility to work as a Speech Pathologist in Australia
. Demonstrated experience in paediatric feeding and mealtime therapy
. Experience working with children with a range of feeding difficulties and presentations
. Strong clinical reasoning and assessment skills
· Strong report writing and clinical documentation skills
· Ability to write clear and concise progress notes
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
· Excellent communication and teamwork skills
· A commitment to evidence-informed family-centred care
· Working with Children’s Clearance or be willing to obtain one
· NDIS Worker Screening or be willing to obtain one
· NDIS experience preferred but not essential
Experience in areas such as oral motor therapy, swallowing, complex feeding presentations and multidisciplinary feeding intervention will be highly regarded.
We are particularly interested in an experienced clinician who can confidently step into an established paediatric feeding caseload and contribute to our specialise feeding therapy service.
