Remuneration: Public Hospital Medical Officers (State) Award
Paediatric Emergency Medicine Trainee positions are available for the remainder of the 2026 Clinical Year, up to 31 January 2027. Paediatric Emergency Department responsibilities include assessing and managing children in the ambulatory, acute care and resuscitation areas of the Emergency Department.
During the period of work within Paediatric Emergency Department, the Trainee will:
- Provide assessment and care of infants and children presenting to Children’s Emergency Department
- Communicate and collaborate with other members of the multidisciplinary teams within and outside the hospital
- Provide referral for appropriate continuity of care for infants and children
- Respond to and be involved in out of department emergencies as required
- Perform procedures under supervision appropriate for level of training
- Build on clinical knowledge and skills in the care of infants and children presenting to Children’s Emergency Department
- Contribute to and be involved in education, quality improvement and research activities as required
