We are seeking a dedicated Guidance Officer to provide counselling, assessment, advice and support to help students navigate their educational, personal, social, emotional and career development.

This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.4FTE), 220 hours per fortnight.

This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.

Bundamba State Secondary College is a secondary college situated in Bundamba, Ipswich and located in the western education corridor of the Brisbane Metropolitan region. In 2024 Bundamba State Secondary College has an enrolment of approximately 891 students.

Your opportunity:

• Provide counselling, psychoeducational assessments and individual support to students, while offering recommendations and advice to students, teachers and parents.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, parents, school staff and external agencies to support student access, engagement, case management and referrals.
• Support students through counselling and referral services when making educational, personal, social, emotional and career-related decisions.
• Observe students and undertake psychoeducational assessments to identify learning difficulties, disability, developmental levels and psychological or emotional needs.
• Make recommendations for appropriate educational adjustments and interventions based on assessment and observation outcomes.
