Transport & Logistics Supervisor

Currently Acostar have an opportunity as a Transport & Logistics Supervisor to effectively direct and own the day-to-day transport activities with our operations.

A minimum of 5 years of transport/logistics supervisory experience is required for this position.

Reporting to Transport Manager, this position is ideal for someone wanting to get into the daily 1% functions of the operations with the ability to problem solve with consistent outcomes for our customers.

This position must commit themselves for 6 months of onboarding through our transport department learning our daily operations inc terminal planning, building driver runs, allocation of fleet equipment effectively and our building meaningful relationships with internal team members. This will lay the foundations with the ability to lead with of thorough understanding of outcomes for our customers requirements.

Candidates must posses comprehensive knowledge of Victorian transport legislation at commencement, as immediate compliance oversight is required.

Key duties performed for this role include:

• Monday to Friday with rotation weekends as required

• The want to learn and lead within a high performing team

• Monitor on-time delivery performance to meet customer expectations

• VBS time slotting for terminal pick ups.

• Provide consistent support to our Customer Service team to ensure all relevant last mile delivery and compliance are met daily.

• Assist with incident reporting and investigation of any safety and compliance incidents and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.

• Ensure CoR obligations are met at all times

To be successful for this position you must be able to demonstrate and meet the following criteria:

• Demonstrated industry experience in transport, logistics or 3PL operations (preferably containerised transport).

• VBS 1-Stop, Freight Tracker TMS knowledge preferable.

• The ability to listen and learn, think on their feet and see things through to a conclusion.

• Good knowledge of end to end supply chain operations.

• Effective consistent communication skills (written and verbal)

• Australian citizenship or Permanent Residency with unrestricted working rights
