About the role
For over 25 years Mental Health Australia has advocated for mental health reform, and we continue to drive policy changes and proactively put mental health on the agenda.
We have over 160 members, including service providers, professional bodies, organisations representing people with mental health challenges and their family, carers and kin, researchers and state and territory peak bodies.
As the national peak for mental health, we unite the mental health sector to present a cohesive voice to government, and provide practical policy solutions to influence decision-making, which in turn, improves the mental health system and the mental health of people in Australia. We work to strengthen the impact and influence of the mental health sector and embed a human rights approach across the mental health system.
This position is responsible for developing compelling mental health policy advice and positions to improve mental health outcomes and experiences. Supporting the leadership of the Deputy Director Policy and Advocacy, this position leads engagement with Mental Health Australia members and stakeholders, develops practical policy solutions and advocates for reforms to drive better national mental health policies and systems. Some travel is required for remote staff to our Canberra office when required.

Your hard work and dedication will be rewarded with excellent remuneration, Full Time Equivalent base salary of $119,966, plus super, plus charity salary packaging options.
