Trainee Educator

About the role

Essence Early Learning is seeking a passionate and dedicated Trainee Educator to join our team in North Mackay. This is a part-time position that offers an excellent opportunity to begin or advance your career in early childhood education. As a Trainee Educator, you will work under the guidance of experienced educators to support the development, learning and wellbeing of children in our care. This role is essential to creating a nurturing, stimulating and inclusive environment where every child can thrive and reach their potential.

What you'll be doing

• Supporting experienced educators in planning and delivering age-appropriate learning experiences and activities

• Assisting with the daily care routines including meals, hygiene, rest time and transitions between activities

• Observing and documenting children's learning and development to contribute to individual learning portfolios

• Building positive relationships with children, families and colleagues in a collaborative team environment

• Contributing to the maintenance of a safe, clean and welcoming learning environment

• Supporting inclusive practices and responding to the individual needs, interests and abilities of all children

• Assisting with supervision and engagement of children during indoor and outdoor play experiences

• Following all relevant policies, procedures and regulatory requirements to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children

• Engaging in professional development and reflecting on practice to develop knowledge and skills

What we're looking for

• A relevant qualification or commitment to obtaining a qualification in early childhood education or childcare (such as Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent)

• A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development

• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues

• A commitment to maintaining the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children

• Reliability, punctuality and a flexible approach to part-time work

• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

• Current Working with Children clearance or willingness to obtain one

• A First Aid qualification or willingness to complete one
