Hepburn Shire Council is seeking an experienced Interim Coordinator Facilities to lead our Facilities team for a 9-month fixed-term opportunity. This role provides the opportunity to oversee Council's facilities, property and fleet functions while identifying and implementing improvements that enhance efficiency, coordination and customer service. The successful applicant will also explore opportunities to integrate Council's SpaceToCo venue booking system into the team's responsibilities to deliver a more streamlined service.

Position Details 

• Permanent full-time (9-month contract) 
• Band 7A $98,345.52 plus super 
• Working hours: 38 hours per week  
• Base location: Daylesford (with travel across the Shire as required) 
• Commencement: as soon as possible

How you'll make a difference

• Leading and promoting a customer focused approach to the management and operation of Council owned and managed facilities and properties
• Oversee the management, administration and continuous improvement of Council’s leases and licences for Council-owned and managed buildings
• Coordinating maintenance, cleaning and day to day operations of Council facilities, ensuring service standards, compliance and operational efficiency
• Developing, implementing and monitoring proactive and preventative maintenance programs for Council owned or controlled facilities
• Managing contracts for cleaning, Essential Safety Measures, lift maintenance and security functions across all Council properties
• Ensuring all facilities meet statutory compliance requirements, including building safety, accessibility and regulatory standards
• Overseeing the management of Council's fleet and plant, including procurement, lifecycle planning and budgeting

About you

• Demonstrated experience in facilities, property or asset management, including coordination of maintenance and operational service delivery, preferably within a local government context
• Relevant qualification in facilities management, property, asset management, business or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience
• Proven experience in leading and managing a team, including developing capability and fostering a high performing, customer focused culture
• Demonstrated knowledge of facilities and property management practices, including contract management, maintenance planning and statutory compliance requirements 
• Demonstrated ability to manage contracts, procurement processes and service providers to achieve quality, cost effective outcomes 
• Experience in budget management and financial monitoring within an operational environment
• Well-developed communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage stakeholder relationships and resolve complex issues
