About the role
The Medical Imaging Team within the Department of Health Tasmania is committed to delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services that support accurate diagnosis, treatment, and patient care. Working collaboratively with radiologists, clinicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, the team uses advanced imaging technology to provide safe, efficient, and patient-centred services. Focused on professionalism, quality, and continuous improvement, the team plays a vital role in supporting positive health outcomes for Tasmanians across a range of healthcare settings.
The RoleAs a Specialist Sonographer, you will provide a high-quality ultrasound imaging service to patients across a diverse range of clinical settings, including medical imaging, emergency, intensive care, theatres, wards and outpatient services. You will perform a broad range of diagnostic and interventional ultrasound procedures while ensuring safe, patient-centred care and maintaining the highest professional and clinical standards.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will exercise professional judgement and clinical expertise to support accurate diagnosis and positive patient outcomes. You will also contribute to service development initiatives, quality improvement activities and the ongoing advancement of ultrasound services. In addition, you will provide leadership, guidance and support to trainee sonographers, students and less experienced staff while fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment

Details of appointmentMultiple permanent, full time and part time, shift worker positions, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary$117,272 to $126,182 pro rata per annum + our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
