About The Team
Working within the Advocacy, Communications & Engagement Department, you'll collaborate with teams across the organisation to celebrate achievements, promote innovation and help secure funding opportunities that deliver positive outcomes for our community. About The Role
We are looking for a Communications Officer – Awards & Grants Writer to join our team and play an important role in telling Kingston Council's success stories.
In this role, you will work across the organisation to prepare compelling awards nominations, engaging grant applications and supporting communications materials that showcase Council's achievements and maximise funding opportunities. You'll partner with subject matter experts, research opportunities, develop persuasive content and contribute to broader communications initiatives across Kingston Council.
What you’ll deliver
Identify and coordinate award nomination opportunities, developing an organisational awards calendar and preparing engaging nomination submissionsResearch and identify grant funding opportunities and support teams to prepare high-quality grant applications aligned to Council prioritiesDevelop written and digital communications content including award submissions, grant applications, media content, speeches, website content and promotional materials.Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Council to gather information, manage projects and deliver outcomes within tight deadlines
What You’ll Bring
Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills with the ability to create compelling and engaging narratives. Experience preparing grant applications, awards nominations or persuasive written submissions.Experience in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism or a related field, with strong stakeholder engagement and project management skills.
