The Sir John Franklin Hotel in Kapunda is seeking a passionate and reliable Chef/Cook to join our kitchen team. This hands-on role involves preparing quality pub meals, maintaining high food safety and presentation standards, and supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen.

Working closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team, you will assist with day-to-day kitchen operations, food preparation and service in a busy pub environment.

Key tasks include:

• Preparing and cooking meals to a high and consistent standard;
• Supporting lunch, dinner, functions and busy trade periods;
• Following recipes, portion control and presentation standards;
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe kitchen;
• Assisting with stock rotation, preparation lists and general kitchen duties;
• Working collaboratively with the front-of-house team; and
• Bringing a positive, practical and hands-on attitude to every shift.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience as a Chef or Cook in a pub or restaurant;
• A genuine passion for quality food and great hospitality;
• Strong communication, organisation and time-management skills;
• The ability to remain calm and focused during busy service periods;
• Knowledge of food-safety and kitchen-hygiene standards;
• Flexibility to work across a seven-day roster, including nights and weekends; and
• A team-first attitude, because kitchens are already chaotic enough without ego garnish.
