Payroll and Administration Assistant

About the role

Austral Fitout Pty Ltd, a leading provider of commercial fitout solutions, is seeking a talented Payroll and Administration Assistant to join our team in our Alexandria, NSW office. This full-time role will be responsible for handling the company's payroll and providing general administrative support to ensure the smooth running of our operations.

What you'll be doing

1. Process weekly payroll for all employees, including salary calculations, tax deductions, and superannuation contributions

2. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including leave entitlements, personal details, and employment contracts

3. Liaise with external stakeholders such as the Australian Taxation Office and superannuation funds to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations

4. Provide general administrative support, including answering phone enquiries, managing inbound and outbound correspondence, and assisting with other office tasks as required

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 2 years' experience in a payroll or administration role, ideally within the construction or fitout industry

2. Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills to ensure accurate payroll processing

3. Proficient in using MYOB and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel

4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with both internal and external stakeholders

5. A proactive and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

6. Qualifications in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field would be highly regarded

7. Previous experience working within an EBA environment is preferred, with a sound understanding of EBA requirements and workplace obligations.
