We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven retail leader who can take full ownership of the store, inspire a high-performing team, deliver an exceptional customer experience, and ensure outstanding operational standards.

Important Note About Airport Working Hours

As this role is based at Sydney International Airport, the operating environment differs from traditional shopping-centre retail.

• Airport trading begins earlier than standard retail hours

• Operations may finish later depending on flight schedules

• Flexibility across early mornings, evenings, weekends, public holidays and peak travel periods is essential

• You will be responsible for ensuring appropriate leadership coverage across the store's operating hours

• All team members must obtain and maintain the required airport passes and comply with airport security and operational requirements

This role is ideal for a leader who enjoys a fast-moving environment, can manage competing priorities and is comfortable leading a business with extended trading hours.

What You’ll Do

Store Leadership & People Management

As Store Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership and day-to-day management of the store.

You will:

• Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing store team

• Create a positive, accountable and service-focused team culture

• Coach and develop team members to achieve individual and store objectives

• Manage performance and provide regular feedback and development

• Support recruitment, onboarding, training and retention of the store team

• Manage workforce planning, rostering and daily deployment in line with operational requirements

• Work closely with HR and management on employee relations, performance and people matters

• Lead by example and maintain a strong presence on the shop floor

Customer & Brand Experience

• Deliver an exceptional premium customer experience that reflects Läderach’s Swiss heritage, craftsmanship and quality

• Ensure the team demonstrates outstanding product knowledge and confidently engages customers

• Drive excellence in product presentation, sampling, selling and customer engagement

• Ensure visual merchandising and store presentation consistently meet Läderach brand standards

• Build a customer-focused culture that encourages loyalty, conversion and repeat business

Commercial Performance

• Take ownership of the store’s sales performance and commercial results

• Drive achievement of sales budgets, KPIs and productivity targets

• Analyse performance and identify opportunities to improve sales, conversion and customer experience

• Coach the team on selling, upselling and product recommendations

• Manage labour effectively in line with trading patterns and business requirements

• Provide regular performance updates and action plans to senior management

Operational Excellence & Stock Management

• Take overall accountability for the effective day-to-day operation of the store

• Ensure strong Back-of-House processes, including receiving, replenishment and stockroom organisation

• Maintain accurate inventory and appropriate stock-control procedures

• Manage stock movements, damages, wastage and discrepancies

• Support and lead stocktakes and inventory investigations where required

• Ensure cash handling, opening and closing procedures and other operational controls are followed consistently

• Maintain high standards of store presentation, cleanliness and organisation

Food Safety, WHS & Compliance

As a premium confectionery retailer operating within an international airport, compliance is a critical part of this role.

You will:

• Ensure compliance with all applicable food safety and hygiene requirements

• Maintain appropriate product handling, storage and temperature-control procedures

• Ensure the store complies with WHS requirements and company policies

• Maintain compliance with Sydney Airport security, access and operational requirements

• Ensure team members understand and consistently follow required procedures

• Identify and escalate operational, safety, security or compliance risks promptly

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for an experienced Store Manager who combines strong commercial capability with genuine people leadership.

Ideally, you will bring:

• Previous Store Manager or senior retail management experience

• Experience within premium retail, luxury retail, specialty food, confectionery, hospitality or another high-volume customer environment

• Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams

• Strong commercial awareness and a proven ability to deliver sales and KPI results

• Experience managing stock, inventory and operational controls

• Strong rostering, workforce planning and organisational capability

• Confidence managing performance and providing constructive feedback

• High standards of customer service and attention to detail

• A proactive and solutions-focused leadership style

• The ability to remain calm, organised and decisive in a high-volume environment

• Flexibility to work within the extended operating requirements of an international airport
