Disability Support Workers

FEMALE DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKERS – NOBLE PARK / WHEELERS HILL AREA

Alpha Disability Support is seeking friendly, reliable and enthusiastic female support workers to join a small support team for a 25-year-old woman in the Noble Park and Wheelers Hill area.

The participant would like support workers close to her age who can build genuine connections with her and share some of her interests. She loves Anime and cooking and is excited to establish her own YouTube channel and work towards starting a future business.

SHIFT AVAILABILITY

We are looking for several support workers who can share the following shifts:

• Mondays
• Tuesdays
• Fridays
• Some weekends, as required

Applicants do not need to be available for every day; please include your availability when applying.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will provide person-centred support to help the participant:

• Build confidence and become more independent
• Develop social and everyday living skills
• Prepare meals and participate in cooking activities
• Attend the gym and access the community
• Plan, help set up and manage her YouTube channel
• Work towards her personal and business goals
• Establish a comfortable and consistent routine

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for support workers who are:

• Female, in line with the participant’s preference and choice
• Relatable peers who can connect with a young adult
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Familiar with Australian culture and everyday communication
• Friendly, patient, respectful and dependable
• Interested in Anime, cooking or creative activities
• Confident using YouTube, social media and basic video technology
• Able to encourage independence without taking over
• Understanding of autism, sensory sensitivities and person-centred support
• Flexible and available for occasional weekend shifts

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates
• Valid Australian driver’s licence
• Reliable and insured vehicle
• Current police check
• Right to work in Australia
• Disability support experience or relevant qualifications are highly regarded
