Graduate Paramedic

About the role

EMT Medical Services is seeking a Graduate Paramedic to join our dynamic emergency medical services team in Baringa, QLD. This is a casual position that offers flexibility whilst allowing you to make a meaningful impact in emergency healthcare. As a Graduate Paramedic, you will be at the forefront of providing emergency medical care to the community, responding to critical situations and delivering high-quality pre-hospital treatment. This role is essential to our mission of providing rapid, professional emergency medical response and represents an excellent opportunity to launch your paramedic career in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to emergency calls and provide immediate medical assessment and treatment to patients in pre-hospital settings

• Administer emergency medical care including basic and advanced life support interventions in accordance with clinical protocols

• Operate and maintain ambulance equipment and medical supplies, ensuring vehicles are ready for emergency response

• Accurately document patient information, treatment provided and transport details for clinical records and handover to hospital staff

• Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and other healthcare professionals, demonstrating professionalism and compassion

• Work collaboratively with experienced paramedics and other emergency services personnel in multi-agency responses

• Maintain current knowledge of emergency medical protocols, procedures and clinical guidelines

• Contribute to the health and safety of the team and public through adherence to workplace safety standards and infection control protocols

What we're looking for

• Current registered Paramedic with AHPRA with qualifications Bachelor of Paramedical Science or equivalent tertiary qualification in paramedicine

• Valid driver's licence and ability to obtain or hold a Heavy Rigid (HR) or Automatic (automatic transmission) licence as required

• Current CPR certification and first aid qualifications

• Strong physical fitness and ability to perform demanding manual tasks, including lifting and carrying patients

• Excellent communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure in emergency situations

• Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, duty of care and professional ethics

• Willingness to work flexible and potentially unsociable hours, including nights, weekends and public holidays

• Working With Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain these

• Experience working in a healthcare or emergency services environment is advantageous
